Biographical note

Thomas G. Williamson (Tacoma, WA) is the Director of the Technical Services Division of APA, overseeing a staff of 20 scientists, engineers, technicians and support personnel who are responsible for the technical and research activities of the association. Mr. Williamson is also Executive Vice President of Engineered Wood Systems (EWS), a related corporation of APA. EWS represents manufacturers of glued laminated timber (glulam), laminated veneer lumber (LVL), prefabricated wood I-joists and other related glued engineered wood composites. Mr. Williamson is co-editor of the McGraw-Hill WOOD ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION HANDBOOK and is co-author of the chapter on Wood Construction of the McGraw-Hill BUILDING DESIGNS AND CONSTRUCTION HANDBOOK.
