Jim Murphy is a performance coach to collegiate, professional, and Olympic athletes in multiple sports, as well as a motivational speaker. A samurai descendant (his mother's lineage is full-blooded Japanese samurai) Jim harnesses the mental power his ancestors were famous for and brings it to each of his clients. Jim was an outfielder in the Chicago Cubs organization before an injury turned him to coaching. He coached professionally for the Texas Rangers organization and then went on to the Olympic Games, where he led a group of part-time baseball players to one of the biggest upsets in Olympic baseball history. Currently the Mental Skills Coach for Baseball Player University (on Fox Sports Network), Jim has had extraordinary success at all levels of coaching. He gives presentations and seminars across North America to collegiate, Olympic, professional and national teams as well as corporations.
