Checklist For Authors

Review the following final checklist before sending us your final manuscript. Click on each checkbox for details.

Your electronic disk should accompany your printed manuscript. Identify the platform and software used.

Your printed manuscript must agree in all respects with your electronic disk version. If you update your disk you must supply a new print version.

Text manuscript must be double-spaced.

Text manuscript should contain consecutive page numbers from the first to the last chapter.

All figures should have figure numbers (e.g., Fig. 1-1) and should be mentioned explicitly in the text.

All tables should have table numbers (e.g., Table 1-1) and should be mentioned explicitly in the text.

Original art should not be embedded in your text manuscript. Rather, submit all printed and electronic art separate from the text.

Figure captions should not be embedded in the text or printed on the art. They must be submitted separately on typed sheets in consecutive order by chapter. In general, all art pieces require a caption.

If any chapters have been deleted or renumbered, all affected chapters should be renumbered as necessary. Figure numbers, table numbers, equations and text references to these items should also be renumbered.

Art can be supplied in either hard copy versions or in electronic form. It should be created to the size you envision it appearing in the finished book.

Electronic art submissions must be in .TIF or .EPS formats only. If you cannot supply .TIF or .EPS files, we will use scans of your clean printed originals.

Gray scale screens of tints in line art do not pick up well in the scanning process. They should be avoided unless you are supplying .TIF or .EPS electronic files.

Original photographs should be crisp and supplied in black and white. Avoid color originals for books that will be printed in black ink only.
